Move from VMware in stages.

Install Neverinstall Private Cloud alongside vSphere. Test one workload group, measure its downtime and rehearse rollback before you approve the production move.

The renewal arrives before a full migration could.

VMware Cloud Foundation is sold per core as a subscription bundle. Moving everything before the renewal means one cutover with no tested way back.

Start with the workloads and the renewal.

We read your vCenter inventory and map dependencies with your team. Send your host list and renewal quote for a written sizing, migration and pricing report. You approve each workload group’s cutover and recovery plan.

vSphere and Neverinstall Private Cloud run beside each other. Other workloads stay on vSphere while a pilot group moves. Source Virtual Machines remain powered off until sign-off. You approve the next group.

Name the approval owners

Application owners approve service behavior. Infrastructure owners approve cutover and recovery. Neverinstall engineers help map and test the first group.

Review, test and approve each workload group.

  1. Map the environment

Review Virtual Machines, application dependencies, storage, networks and backups. Identify the hosts your contract allows you to remove from renewal.

  2. Install alongside vSphere

Set up a pilot cluster on supported servers. Keep vSphere and the tools you still depend on running.

  3. Test cutover and recovery

Import the Virtual Machines and map networks and storage. Test applications, guest drivers, backups and restore. Measure downtime and rehearse rollback, including new data.

  4. Approve and expand

Keep source Virtual Machines powered off until sign-off, then move the next group.

Questions about leaving VMware.

Will our renewal cost go down?

It depends on the agreement. Hosts leave the renewal only where your terms allow it. Compare a per-node quote for the same workloads, including parallel operation, infrastructure and third-party licenses.

How do Virtual Machines and networks move?

The migration pipeline reads vCenter inventory, imports VMDK and VHDX disks and prepares VirtIO drivers. We map port groups and firewall rules to Tenant Networks, Subnets and Security Groups, then test them with the first group.

How quickly can we start?

Neverinstall Private Cloud installs alongside vSphere in about 30 minutes, and most teams have a first cluster running in a day. The first workload group moves once its pilot tests pass.

How long is the cutover interruption?

We measure a window for each workload group during the pilot. The duration depends on the application and replication method. Live migration from vSphere is on the roadmap.

Can we roll back?

We write and test a rollback plan for each workload group. The original Virtual Machines remain powered off in vCenter until sign-off. The plan includes a return step for data written after cutover.

Can we keep using Veeam?

Yes. Veeam is supported alongside built-in scheduled backups to an off-cluster vault. The pilot backs up and restores a migrated Virtual Machine before a production move.
